Why inspect lightning protection separately
Lightning protection protects the building, technology and people. For companies, schools and municipalities a periodic inspection is a normal part of asset management. Looking from the ground is not enough — a complete inspection includes the air-termination system, down-conductors and earthing measurements.
What we check
- air-termination system and joints
- down-conductors, fixings and mechanical protection
- contact resistances of connections
- earth resistances and overall earthing
- consistency with the building documentation
Newer systems follow ČSN EN 62305. LPS class depends on the importance of the building. Intervals are summarised on inspection intervals. We often combine this with an installation inspection.

Which lightning protection systems do you inspect?
Both conventional and newer LPS on company, school and public buildings. The method depends on the age of the system and the applicable standard.
Which standard applies?
Systems after 1 November 2006 follow the ČSN EN 62305 series. Older systems are assessed under ČSN 33 1500 and the original building documentation.
Is roof access required?
Yes. A complete inspection needs safe access to the air-termination system, down-conductors and earthing. We agree access with the site manager in advance.
What are the inspection intervals?
They depend on the LPS class and the age of the system. Schools, production and public buildings often have shorter intervals than ordinary buildings.
